Visual Kei Project - Creators of Shinsei Kei (新聖系)
Founded in France in September 2025, AMEJILU is an independent Visual Kei project created by:
Their art is born from the duality between light and darkness, life and death, soul and matter.
AMEJILU embodies the will to transform pain into creation, weakness into strength, and darkness into awakening.
Their musical and visual universe gave birth to Shinsei Kei (新聖系), meaning "The New Sacred", an original artistic philosophy where music, storytelling, manga, traditional animation and spirituality become one.
AMEJILU means "finding strength through the rain." Rain symbolizes pain, memories, healing and rebirth. Storms may be powerful, but the souls who walk through them emerge stronger. 🦇🌧️
Born to deaf parents, Jun began speaking later than most children. Music became her first bridge to language and helped her find her own voice.
As a child, she discovered a landscape from Japan that awakened a profound sense of familiarity, as though it belonged to a distant memory.
In middle school, she fell in love with Japanese rock through Great Teacher Onizuka, discovering L'Arc~en~Ciel and, later, the world of Visual Kei.
She eventually chose to leave the traditional academic path to pursue her own artistic journey, driven by her dream of becoming a manga artist and storyteller.
A self-taught creator, Jun draws inspiration from Mari Hamada, Kamaitachi, Nightmare, DIR EN GREY, the GazettE, Sleep My Dear, NeiL, Plastic Tree, X JAPAN, Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe, traditional Japanese music, new wave, punk, horror cinema, and anime soundtracks.
Fascinated by dark fantasy, the supernatural, retro culture, and hand-crafted art, she brings these influences together into a single artistic universe where music, illustration, storytelling, and traditional animation become one.
Her dream is for every AMEJILU song to become more than music: a story, a manga, a traditionally animated film on paper and celluloid, and a world that people can continue to revisit long after the music ends.
A passionate guitarist since childhood, Hat grew up listening to Gary Moore, MSG, Dokken, and anime soundtracks. One of the songs that deeply shaped his love for anime music was DAN DAN 心魅かれてく from Dragon Ball GT, which sparked his fascination with anime openings and original soundtracks.
Throughout the years, he played in several bands and gained experience both on stage and in the studio. While these projects taught him a great deal, he always felt something was missing artistically.
Today, he composes, records, mixes, and masters all of AMEJILU's music, giving each song a cinematic and emotional dimension.
Together with Jun, he has found a shared artistic vision: creating an original universe where music, traditional animation, manga, and storytelling become one. Despite the challenges they have faced, including moments of doubt and depression, they continue to move forward, supporting each other and refusing to abandon their dream.
His energy is one of quiet perseverance, a flame that never fades.
AMEJILU was born from years of collaboration between Jun and Hat, who previously created music under the project LOVEJUMP, focused on calm and traditional compositions.
The call of rock, emotional drama, and spiritual awakening gave rise to AMEJILU, carrying a living philosophy:
Transform pain, injustice, and loneliness into art.
Shinsei Kei is a Visual Kei subgenre created by Jun of AMEJILU.
It is an art of awareness and contrast, a musical philosophy where good and evil, softness and rage, light and shadow coexist in sacred balance.
In this world, life is neither paradise nor hell: it is a spiritual passage where one learns to be reborn from one’s scars.
The sound of Shinsei Kei blends powerful riffs with delicate melodies, like two hearts beating in opposite rhythms.
Its visual aesthetics draw from a deep symbolic color language:
All make-up and costumes are handcrafted by Jun, merging ancient Japanese symbols representing the soul, destiny, elements, and life.
Shinsei Kei honors life and death as complementary forces and explores the raw beauty of existence.
The Shinsei Kei (新聖系) — The New Sacred — is not just a musical style:
it is a path of awakening.
It teaches inner transformation, peace through chaos, wisdom through pain, and clarity in the face of modern illusions.
To live by the Shinsei Kei means to:
Turn every emotion into art: anger, fear, love, solitude.
Accept that light and darkness coexist.
Reject the excess and superficiality of modern society.
Respect nature and life in all its forms.
Walk with discipline, lucidity, and kindness.
Shinsei Kei expresses itself through voices that shift from whisper to scream, dreamlike yet powerful riffs, and melancholic melodies born from the subconscious and the heart.
The vampire often appears as a recurring symbol, not of fear, but of eternity, memory, and rebirth.
